Axis Shift? What's Next?

Rather than post a comment in response to a comment on a previous Comet Elenin post, I thought I would just address it here. The comment was "How do you feel now that the earths axis has indeed shifted 25cms? You were adamant about it not happening...but it did."

Amazing how some people are able to spin things to preserve their "rightness". There was a lot of hoopla about a "POLE SHIFT" as in the poles of the planet reversing entirely, and it was destined to happen on either March 12th or 15th, depending on your source and was going to be globally cataclysmic.

There's a world of difference between a Pole Shift, as in "reversal" or major movement, and the few centimeters that the poles shift during major earthquakes.

Since these Chicken Little types were so hot on this pole shift and are now claiming that their prediction came true with a 4 inch shift, let me recapitulate a bit of fairly recent history. You see, the pole shifted with the Chile Earthquake, too, but nobody went around crying "The sky is falling" then.

What we see here is the same phenomenon that erupted at the approach of Comet Hale-Bopp - hysteria among some folks who might be a bit psychic, driven by pathological COINTELPRO handlers. Is there going to be another "Heaven's Gate" suicide as a result? We hope not; and it is for that reason, keeping a cool head in the face of real Earth Changes, that I work to stay balanced on the topic, present the data, and encourage people to do their own research and don't get rattled.

Anyhoo... the first report about the pole shifting as a result of the Japan Earthquake seems to have come from Italy's National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology. Naturally, they have such an institute with lots of funding since they live on a volcanic and earthquake hot spot. They tell us that "the 8.9-magnitude earthquake that rattled Japan Friday shifted the earth's rotation axis by about 25 centimetres. INGV's report, which came hours after the devastating incident, is equivalent to "very, very tiny" changes that won't be seen for centuries, though..." [Source]

Did you get that last part? It's something you can't even notice. If you didn't have such friendly experts to tell you that it happened, you wouldn't know it happened.

Hmmm... a conspiratorial minded person as myself, with a lot of experience sussing out COINTELPRO and knowing that nearly all the institutions in positions of power on this planet are controlled by psychopaths at the summits of power, might wonder about that... but never mind.

Back to the earthquake; we are informed:
Last year, NASA reported that a 8.8-magnitude earthquake that hit Chile shorted the day by 1.26 millionths of a second, according to computer-model calculations.

NASA had estimated that the Chilean earthquake shifted the globe's axis by about 10 centimetres, National Geographic reported at the time.

INGV, which is Europe's largest research institute to monitor geophysics, said the impact of Friday's event was "much greater" than 2004's notorious Sumatra earthquake, which clocked in at a magnitude of 9.1.[Source]

So, this is clearly not a new or even very dramatic event. It happens. It's happened before, probably more times than we realize, and it will undoubtedly happen again.

People, this is not a "Pole Shift" in the terms that the general public - or the Chicken Littles - use "pole shift" though certainly, the Earth's axis made an adjustment to accommodate the movement of Japan's landmass some 8 feet!

Now THAT figure should give us pause.
Japan's recent massive earthquake, one of the largest ever recorded, appears to have moved the island by about eight feet (2.4 meters), the US Geological Survey said. ... The quake and its tectonic shift resulted from "thrust faulting" along the boundary of the Pacific and North America plates, according to the USGS.

The Pacific plate pushes under a far western wedge of the North America plate at the rate of about 3.3 inches (83 millimeters) per year, but a colossal earthquake can provide enough of a jolt to dramatically move the plates, with catastrophic consequences. [Source]
Judging by the ping-pong effect of these back and forth Pacific Rim events, this may very well mean that the West Coast of the U.S. is next. For what it is worth, this is what the Cassiopaeans have said about California:
San Diego, San Bernardino, North Bakersfield, Barstow: all are fracture points. Hollister, Palo Alto, Imperial, Ukiah, Eureka, Point Mendocino, Monterrey, Offshore San Luis Obispo, Capistrano, Carmel: these are all stress points of fracture in sequence. "Time" is indefinite. Expect gradual destruction of California economy as people begin mass exodus. Also, Shasta erupts; Lassen activity. Ocean floor begins to subside. [3 December 1994]
And from 4 July, 1998:
A: ... How about a shattering subduction quake in Pacific Northwest of U.S.? We estimate 10.4 on the Richter scale. We have warned of Ranier. Imagine a 150 meter high tsunami in Puget Sound...

Q: (L) Now, you have mentioned this earthquake. I know that you don't usually give predictions, why have you done so now?

A: We do not give time tables.

Q: (L) Anything else other than a tsunami in Puget Sound and a big subduction quake... 10.4 on the Richter scale is almost inconceivable.

A: Ranier... caldera.

Q: (L) What about the caldera?

A: Expect one.

Q: (L) Other than floods, anything else for Florida upcoming?

A: All areas experience accelerating "freak weather patterns."

Q: (L) Okay, all of these freaky weather patterns and bizarre things going on on the planet, how does it relate to the comet cluster and the brown star? Is it related?

A: Human experiential cycle intersects.

Q: (L) Any specifice physical manifestation of either this brown star or this comet cluster or this realm border, that is related to these events on the planet?

A: Approach of wave stimulates precursor activity which in turn causes effects which in turn stimulates further "heating up" of activity...

...

Q: (L) Okay, is there anyway we could graph this ourselves, and if so, what types of events would we include to create the background data?

A: "El Nino, La Nina," etc...

Q: (L) Is this El Nino thing connected to sunspot cycles?

A: No.

Q: (L) It has its own cycle. I don't think it has been tracked for long enough to get...
A: Global warming, a part of the human experiential cycle.

But then, Mother Nature may not be done with chastising Japan yet either. The Cassiopaeans have said that after the 8.9 event, an even bigger one will manifest and Japan will "buckle."

The point I'm making here is this: the Cassiopaeans predicted a whole slew of stuff back in the 90s in regards to our future after some sort of "take-over". Well, the take-over occurred on 9-11 and humanity allowed it to happen. So I figure that means most - or all of - the rest is going to come down too.

But the Cassiopaeans have also said that the future is open, that such events aren't locked in until just before they happen, that human beings can always - if they wake up en masse - mitigate disaster. The Cassiopaeans have said "It's not where you are, but who you are and what you see" that matters during Earth Changes. Obviously, if you are a "who" who can "see" you will do things rather differently than somebody who is not a "who" and who cannot "see." And that's the difference that makes the difference. (What this means in practical ways is discussed on the Cassiopaean Forum.)

Anyway, the bottom line is this: yes, the axis shifted a bit - as it has before - as a result of the Japan earthquake, and such things will happen again, but NO, there was no "Pole Shift" (in caps) as in globally catastrophic pole reorientation. But yes, we are still in the soup because too few people are awake and aware. There are going to be more earthquakes, more severe earthquakes, volcanism to an extent this planet hasn't experienced for a very long time (that's already happening and is the cause of the so-called global warming).

There is probably a "dark star" out there, as the Cassiopaeans have been saying for many years now, and it is getting close, grounding the electrical energy of our Sun, and setting the engine of change in motion. These changes can be seen in "global warming" which seems to be taking place on ALL the planets in the solar system (which precludes human causes).

Where it will end, we do not know, though we have a fair approximation: an Ice Age is coming. What is important in times like these is to keep a cool head (no pun intended)! We've got this year to get through, with Comet Elenin approaching, several alignments coming up, so just keep your eyes open and collect reliable information.

With all the cray crap going on in the world today I just decided not to feed into the manufactured fear. I live simply and no longer watch TV and limit the news I listen to. I live simply and watch nature and what happens just happens. I believe in nothing and in everything..Loved the videos

I just have to say something. Thanks you for this. Really. :)

frann has said taht she's not going to watch tv anymore. That's might be ok, but I think this is a warning, as you Laura wrote. People she "woke up" and open eyes. I wrote something about Japan but at Croatian and I don't know can I translate it well but I'll try. I think this situation in Japan was a wave of energy and souls left their bodies because there wasn't hope to get theit body on higher mind level. That's my opinion. But anyway, that you for this report. :)

T'is interesting to say the least. I was reading the C's session 10/5/94 and it nailed the 8.9 in Japan but missed the area. Also the time frame was close. I was hooked from the git, when I started reading the "Wave" series. I find the C's fasinating, I would love to have a chat with em. The sessions are great too. DGF

The shifting of the poles by increments accompanies (as it did during the early centuries of the Holocene) the massive re-distributions of weight around the Earth's surface following each progressive melt of Antarctic and Greenland ice cover. Tectonic and volcanic activity also increases during times of ice burden thinning... which is accelerating now back to a rate not seen since about 6,500 BC, after which it slowed considerably.

Your points are well taken. One consideration to add is a possible rotation of the entire Pacific plate since the Santiago quake... an anti-clockwise "twist" if you will. The passing-along of this torque is going around the world, not just the often referred to "Ring of Fire"... just like the turning of gears. For instance it changed the alignment of plates 30 km. down under Iceland by a half-kilometre perhaps, causing an entirely different "plumbing" under Eyjafjallajökull during its last eruption than the usual (which historically sends rhyolite magma to the surface). Instead we saw the kind of magma associated with its neighbour Katla.

Lastly, this added torque changes the angular relationships within long-"stuck" overthrust subduction faults such as the Cascadian, hung up deep underground instead of sliding over one another. Its 9-metre accumulated strain is now 311+ years in the making. A recent University of Oregon study has recalibrated the interval of the Cascadian quakes as approx. every 254 years rather than the 500-600 years often heard in past decades. Not only is that quake "overdue" by 57 years, but the conditions for stimulating and releasing such a quake may have been enhanced by the Santiago earthquake and its rotational aftermath.

Some of what I say here is minority opinion, but certainly my prediction of Eyjaf's eruption saved lives and I hope new research & the informed realism will ease people out of complacency, helping everyone to better prepare for a bit of a rough time. We've enjoyed a couple of centuries of "ease" especially in the Americas and west Europe, yet Nature has not taken a vacation and its cycles are natural, unbiased and ultimately visited upon everyone.

Thanks, Micheal, for that reasonable explanation. It sits well. Let me know when you have a prediction! I'm listening!

Will do Laura. All manner of changes are slowly accelerating in terms of their shared vectors... ie. methane clathrate from the thawing tundras, which has been difficult to bring to consciousness because it seems abstract.

Few people other than specialists are aware that the oceans have risen 125 metres (about 400 feet) since the last Ice Age glaciers started melting about 20,000 years ago. I have a nice graphic showing that clearly (up to the present), if you have a way to receive or display it. At the times of the each "great melting" volcanoes and earthquakes were very typical and usually very damaging.

Yes, the methane issue has interested us for some time now. If you go to sott.net and use the search and type in "methane", you'll see how many articles we've archived about it. I wrote a little about it myself here: http://www.sott.net/articles/show/210978-All-For-One-and-One-For-All

I'd like to see that graphic. Send me an email laura(at)sott.net and I'll send you a receiving addy.

By the way, have you read Firestone, West and Warwick-Smith's book "The Cycle of Cosmic Catastrophes"? I've got a whole series on comets etc, and astronomer, Victor Clube, has retired a bit north of us and we chat about this stuff now and again.

Also - sorry about the typo on your name. I've usually got ten tabs open and once and typing like a maniac to keep up with stuff!

No problem. I've been writing about methane for about 6 years and although I can't take credit, I encouraged Katey Walter to visit Russia when she wasn't connecting the dots about the methane she was seeing in Alaska. She showed a great spirit, and enthusiastic and inquiring mind but at the time was dominated by mainstream petro-thinking.

After she did so she wrote what is still one of the top articles about sequestered methane for the public (in Sci. Amer.) and was named by Nat. Geographic as one of the outstanding Young Scientists of the Year in 2009. Look 'er up.

My research through Royal Astronomical Soc. of Canada, International Permafrost Association and American Geophysical Union (full list at twitter/redactyl) is all to support the skrying work I've been doing... starting in Ireland to uncover trends and stressed cultures of the past 20k years. I just gave a presentation in Gloucester, MA on North Atlantic tsunamis, for instance... and I'm also turning my attention a lot to British Columbia and Iceland.

I'll stay in touch.
